The wild and beautiful Daisetsu and Furano-Biei area runs from Sounkyo Onsen in the north,
southwest through Biei and its famous rolling hills, and down to Furano.

The unique hiking scenery is different from the rest of Japan because of a distinct geological history which created long, hikable ridges at a moderate altitude.
Trails range in length from 1 hour, to half-day, to full-day hikes.
The volcanic sections are relatively steep and covered with rocky debris from the eruptions.

While some visitors opt for multi-day trekking adventures, we are not offering those trips due to the difficult logistics involved.
